ABOUT THE PANELISTS

Michele Anne-Marie Dickson (she/her/they/them) is a bedbound, non-binary, Asexual, disabled, self-taught multidisciplinary artist whose practice involves a wide range of media including, pen and ink, acrylic, watercolour, pastel, photography, graphite, and mixed media. Her work manifests the depth and layering of lived experience, while identifying as someone with mental illness, chronic illness, and a history of trauma.

Renée Anne Bouffard-McManus (she/her) is an artist, curator, art worker currently based in Toronto. Her research connects care to the art of noticing within curation, art communities, and art organizations. She explores care theory and Disability Arts frameworks to inform this work. Since 2008, as a self-taught artist, she became interested in rural and online art/design communities and economies. In 2025, she graduated with an MFA in Criticism and Curatorial Practice from OCAD University. After graduating, she curated student exhibitions and has also worked as a teaching assistant and a sessional instructor at OCAD U. She is a member of the Creative Research Inclusive Practices (CRIP) Lab at OCAD U. In the colder months, she coordinates a weekly community art table in Etobicoke for those with experiences of home and food insecurity.
