Workman Arts is seeking member artists interested in becoming Active Listeners for both internal and external opportunities.

In line with being a trauma-informed organization, through the Virtual Front Desk, the Educations Department, LASSO programming, and the Held Space at certain WA events/programming; WA will hire Active Listeners both virtually and on-site to hold space for anyone needing support.

When opportunities come up, we’ll reach out to the Active Listener pool to see who is interested and available for the specific opportunity. This means there is no availability commitment to be part of the pool. Depending on the opportunity, payment can range from 20-25$/hr.

Workman Arts is looking for people who possess; compassion, patience, an open temperament; the confidence and composure to hold space for someone else’s experience; the self-care capacities and resources to support yourself in the role; and an understanding of community resources that attendees needing additional support may utilize.

If this sounds like you, then please apply!

For this call Workman Arts will be prioritizing Indigenous peoples, people of colour, people living with disability, and those who identify as LGBTQIA2S+.

We strongly encourage applicants from these communities to apply and self-identify in their applications
