Are you an artist who includes sculpture in your practice? Are you curious about steps involved in public art proposals? Would you like to learn to develop hand-building techniques and how these skills can be applied to public art processes? If YES, this program is for you!
This winter Workman Arts will offer a 6 week intensive mentorship led by David Salazar where he will work with a small group of dedicated artists interested in deepening their sculptural practice and offer his experiences in public art processes.
David is a Toronto based sculptor with a studio practice highly focused in hand modeling clay, although his work is often largescale his creative process always begins by sculpting small scale models. It is this initial stage of the creative process that Salazar would like to introduce through this online workshop.
Each participant will be provided with a sculpture created by David and all materials needed to reproduce it through weekly online instruction.
