Winter/Spring 2020 Studio Space Call for Applications

Workman Arts members are invited to apply for studio spaces for the period of February – June. Studios are semi-private studio spaces in larger shared environments. Each accepted artist will have a dedicated space that includes a lockable storage box, table, chair, power source and easel (if required). The deadline for applications is December 2.

Being Scene 19th Annual Exhibition Call for Submissions

Last year, Being Scene exhibited over 100 artworks by 60+ artists. The exhibition covered a wide range of conceptual and material approaches, giving voice to diverse life experiences. We invite you to submit completed artwork for the opportunity to exhibit in a group show for the month of March 2020.

Eligibility open to Workman Arts members and/or artists who have accessed CAMH services only.

George Hardy Scholarship

George Hardy was a cherished member of Workman Arts from 2008-2016. This scholarship was established in honour of George through the generous contributions from George’s son Trystan Hardy and George’s sister Lynn Hardy.

OAC Exhibition Grants

Workman Arts is a recommender for the Ontario Arts Council’s (OAC) Exhibition Assistance Grants, a program which provides funding for presentation costs for confirmed exhibitions to artists living in Ontario. The minimum grant awarded is $500 and the maximum is $2,000.

Norman and Marsha Paul Family Trust

The Norman & Marsha Paul Family Trust has made a commitment to provide $60,000 in funding over the next three years (2018-2020) to support member artists with costs associated with Workman Arts exhibitions and presentations.

The Paul Family Trust (PFT) assists Workman Arts member artists with production costs associated with Workman Arts exhibitions. To be eligible for this fund, you must have confirmation that your work has been accepted into one of our exhibitions (such as Being Scene or Rendezvous with Madness) and be a current active member.

Art Sales and Rental Participation

Workman Arts selects and administers artwork to be sold and rented by individuals and businesses in the community and at CAMH. Original artworks created by Workman Artists will be displayed with proper signage and credits. Proceeds for sales or rentals are given to artist(s) and an additional admin fee is added to cover administration costs.
