Our programs support artists to reach their creative and professional goals through art training, professional development, and presentation opportunities and by providing support through peer-to-peer interaction and community. Join us for Metalsmithing II, where we’ll continue to explore fundamental and versatile skills of traditional metalwork. We’ll start with basic cutting and forming techniques and explore ways to make necklaces using metal and fiber. Each student will create a traditional scarf brooch, plus a necklace or pendant. Birds and humans have the ability to walk the land and swim the earth's open water, but the ability to freely soar the sky solely belongs to birds. During this 4 session workshop, participants will meditate on the diverse cultural and symbolic stories of birds through sculpting with porcelain clay.

This workshop is led by Native Women in the Arts and is designed for participants who are Indigenous, Black, a Person of Colour, a woman, non-binary, and/or queer.
